Registry Cleaners and Other Ways to Make Your Computer Faster

Is your computer acting slower than usual lately? If so, then I know how you feel. It can be a royal pain when your computer isn’t working properly. Using Facebook, checking email, writing documents for work, or even just starting up the computer take a lot longer than usual and it can get really frustrating.

But luckily your computer doesn’t have to stay that way. And no, I’m not saying that you need to take your laptop in for repairs somewhere or get the Geek Squad to come fix it for you. In fact, there are a lot of easy things you can do to improve your computer’s performance and speed.

Registry cleaners and other programs are a big help, but there are some even simpler methods that will make your computer faster. Here are a few tips that hopefully you will find useful.

First of all, spyware is notorious for using up disk space and slowing things down. Use your current antivirus program or do a search for Malwarebytes online (it is free) and do a full scan and then delete any viruses that might be slowing down your computer.

Next you should try to make space on your computer. The more free space on your computer the faster it will go. So try to find any old pictures, videos, documents or any files or programs you can delete and get rid of them. Clearing up some more space makes a big difference. You might want to look into getting an external hard drive too- putting your data on that leaves a lot of free RAM which means your computer will be a lot faster.

Defragging your computer is an important task and should be done regularly too. There should be an option in the start menu somewhere that says Disk Defragmentation. This will help “re-organize” all of the data on your hard drive, making more room on your computer and speeding things up.

You might want to try a registry cleaner too. These are software programs that you can either buy at the store or download online (some options are free, but the better ones aren’t). They scan your computer for old registry files, cookies, recycle bin files, and any other temp files that you don’t need. After doing the scan, it deletes all of these unnecessary files which puts a lot of free space on your computer. The scans are quick, so you should notice a difference almost immediately in your computer performance.
